For the design of The Marriage of Figaro our director (Chía Patiño) gave us the task of setting this classic opera in a fictional Navy. We needed to design an insignia language for our navy separate from any real nation and would make power rankings clear to our audience. We translated each characters 18th century role into one in the Navy and matched the insignia level with it.
