Ellie Van Engen is a costume designer/concept artist dedicated to building worlds through characters. She believes that each character’s look should come together to create a world her audience can feel immersed in. Ellie loves the opportunity to collaborate with directors and other designer to help the world they dream come to life.

Ellie hailing from Holland Michigan, is currently a BFA Theater Design and Production: Costume Design candidate at the University of Michigan. At Michigan she has continued to grow in illustrating, design, garment construction, paperwork, and collaboration.

When Ellie is not designing she enjoys crafting, reading, hiking, and being at the beach. You can also always catch her at a Michigan Football games, Go Blue! In addition to her design major she is also working towards a gender and health minor with a focus in reproductive justice.
